Fygs Anna Lena Stokes OLOVSDOTTER is a designer/crafter with deep roots in Sweden’s folk art and design tradition.
"By mixing quality fabrics of all kind and by adding a vintage or local touch I’ve created my own “Olovsdotter” unique style. The Swedish word ‘Olovsdotter’ has the literal translation of Olov’s daughter, so according to old Swedish name tradition; I’m Olovsdotter as my father’s name was Olov.
I was taught to sew at a young age and have brought this skill and tradition with me throughout my life.
However, my background is in the travel industry which enabled me to live and worked in many amazing places and interesting cultures.
I took my degree in Communication & PR whilst launching Sweden’s first Conference & Events Organising Company with offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg.
I came over to England to help to build up a small Swedish owned hotel chain, met the love of my life and stayed.
Now living in Wales and retired after 18 years at Swansea University Library, I have been able to devote more time to my love of crafts which is inspired by both the beautiful Welsh language and the lovely Welsh country side... with a Swedish touch!"
