Lauren Pollard is a self-taught artist based in South Wales. She has shown an interest in art since she was a young girl and would draw pictures for family and friends. Lauren had a fascination in art history and psychology which would have an influence over her work.

 

Lauren’s specialty is in oils and has been working on refining her painting skills since 2021. Her work is inspired by her surroundings and experiences bringing attention to topics such as mental health and well-being through the use of colour, energetic brushwork and visual distortions. 

 

Lauren is currently working on a series of self-portraits, as a winner of the Sane Creative Award, expressing what it’s like to live with chronic pain and fatigue as a result of Fibromyalgia. She aims to use the project to connect with others going through similar struggles and to build awareness around invisible illnesses.
