Service Description
DEVELOPING A PAINTING Week 1 : Students will go to Ferryside and create some images to use as a starting point for their work. We will use a sketchbook, ink, watercolours and pencils to make exploratory drawings. A viewfinder will also be used to isolate images. Also students will take photographs to use as a reference later in the process. If time allows, we will assess the work created and possible starting points for the final pieces. Week 2 : We will make a large monochrome drawing based on your favourite image. We will then collage this image to explore tone, depth and composition. We will be using charcoal, graphite and/or ink. This process will help to inform your final piece. Week 3 : This will be a session on mark making. We will explore a range of different methods of mark making to use in your final pieces. Week 4 : We will work on our final pieces, using your chosen medium/s and with reference to the images, drawings and mark making exercises completed over the previous 3 sessions.
