Make Your own Memory Box at Llanelli Railway Goods Shed Marsh Street Y Ty Celf is running a series of 4 workshops which focus on arts for wellbeing and exploring how being nostalgic improves how we feel. Participants will be asked to bring 4 items to the first session :- a precious object, a meaningful photograph, a piece of writing which is significant and a piece of music which can be played on a phone or similar device. The sessions will involve participants in creatively exploring each item in a variety of media :-painting, drawing, print, and possibly 3D media. The aim is to gather together responses to the items and to eventually select those which will form an assemblage, carefully placed in some form of box. This could be a simple shoe box or perhaps an old wooden drawer placed on its side, or a wooden cutlery drawer...there are lots of possibilities. This will be a permanent and highly significant, individual art piece, which can be treasured.
