Karen is from Llanelli and has worked in the public sector for 42 years before retiring in September 2021. Karen is an emerging stained-glass artist, having studied Architectural Stained Glass at Swansea and is currently Managing Director of Y Ty Celf.  

Karen’s appreciation of all things art comes from her travels, the environment around her and particularly observes how light and reflections impact the object or the landscape she is in. Karen is appreciative of the skill and the magnitude of stained glass in traditional settings and also more contemporary designs and buildings.  

Her colleagues have described her work as dynamic, representing movement, imaginative and abstract.

Karen is currently developing her work painting on glass and including copper and gold gilding.
