LAUREN POLLARD

Lauren Pollard is a self-taught artist based in Llanelli, working primarily in oils, with a growing interest in gouache. Since 2021, she has been refining her painting practice with a focus on expressive brushwork and thoughtful colour choices to explore the emotional depth of ordinary moments.
Lauren’s recent work explores the quiet beauty of food still lifes, especially breakfast scenes, capturing moments of comfort, joy, and nostalgia. These familiar rituals spark feelings of warmth and reflection, inviting viewers into quiet, meaningful moments of everyday life.
Her interest in psychology and the emotional resonance of daily experience continues to shape her approach to subject matter and composition. Lauren’s work is grounded in real experiences, from joyful routines to the quiet challenges of chronic illness. She hopes her paintings offer viewers a chance to pause, reflect, and find beauty in the familiar.
Lauren previously received the SANE Creative Award for her self-portrait series on chronic pain and invisible illnesses. The project used art as a way to connect with others and open up honest conversations around hidden struggles and wellbeing.
