Service Description
Participants will be encouraged to complete a self portrait/ caricature in the style of Takashi Murakami, and then do the same for three characters or people you identify with from pop culture, for example: film character, musician, comic or cartoon character. This would be with markers and acrylic pens. The second session will be thinking about what imaginary or nostalgic theme could tie these characters together, thinking about what they would be doing, what poses to place them in, the environment they occupy and experiment with collage, focusing on shape and composition. And even placing their cut-out drawings into the designs they come up with. The third session will be exploring text and font and how/ where to implement this within their design. Using ink dip pens and wash techniques as displayed in the ‘Fearless vampire killers’ poster. The final workshop brings together a culmination of what participants have learnt producing g a final cohesive piece using work from the previous workshops as reference material. The focus on acrylic pens and comic/ cartoon style
