Melanie Kanz is a self-taught mixed media abstract artist. 

 

She grew up in a small village in Lower Saxony, Germany and has now settled in Burry Port, Wales.

 

These two cultures constantly enrich and inspire her artworks which are intuitive and energetic expressions of how she perceives the world.

 

A colour lover, she gets inspired by nature, music and other artist. Drawn towards abstraction, she is leaving her paintings deliberately open-ended and intriguing to the viewer. 

 

Her paint medium is often acrylic which she loves because it is able to build up layers upon layers of paint, collage and texture.
